Tuscan Backyard Oasis-2222

This client is a Houston native plant expert and his backyard is truly a testament to his passion. The use of circles and ellipses in this space give a bold, expressive sense of unity that cohesively connects the pool, house, and raised deck, creating a sense of oneness throughout. Flagstone was used to deconstruct the sharp edge of the pool which now leads to a circular stone path acting as a fulcrum for the veranda. A natural moss rock boulder was custom made with a disappearing fountain for the center of the Italian rock garden while zoysia zorro grass provides a lush blanket for the lawn. Working with native plants is a relationship building experience, both with the plants themselves and with the local horticulture community – and this client has worked closely over the years with local experts like Heidi Sheesley, Joshua Kornegay, and the team at Buchanan’s Native Plants.
