Eye of the Tiger

So far, 2019 has been a whirlwind, and on March 1st our team was honored to attend the 2019 Tiger Ball, celebrating the Asia Society’s 40th anniversary in Houston.

670 guests were greeted by a posh red carpet, lavish crimson décor, and gourmet food at this over-the-top must be at event, held in memory of founding member, Former First Lady Barbara Bush.

For their many years of dedicated service to the Greater Houston community, the Tiger Ball also recognized honorees Phoebe and Bobby Tudor.

The décor was modeled around the traditional 40th anniversary gift, the ever lovely and sparkling Ruby. Guests walked the red carpet donning ruby red gowns and were greeted by traditional red lanterns and luxe red linens.

To add a little extra sparkle to the ambiance inside the event, the existing Live Oak and Shumard Oak trees on the property were utilized by wrapping the trees in numerous strands of white sparkle lights!

Guests participated in a big board auction to bid on lavish experiences and one-of-kind items.

Auction items included the first pitch at an Astros game, dinner for 10 with Rice University president Dr. David W. Leebron and his wife Y. Ping Sun in their 1920’s mansion and honorees the Tudor family auctioned a week’s stay at their 10-bedroom Nantucket home with ocean views, infinity pool, and spa bathrooms, among other amazing auction items valued at almost $195k!

Talk about a good time!

This year’s Tiger Ball became the highest-earning gala in ASTC’s history, raising over $1.4 million, and the proceeds from the gala support 150 + public programs each year!

Our team truly enjoyed our first Tiger Ball and we are looking forward to many more years of being part of such an amazing organization!
